To build a complete picture of Sydney we compiled listings for over 1,040 local businesses from publicly available sources: business name, suburb, category and contact details. That Basic listing is already live and free. Claiming it verifies you as the owner so you control exactly what it says, and you can request changes or removal at any time.

No. Basic listings are free and stay free. You only pay if you upgrade to Standard or Premium for extra features and customisation.

Basic is your name, suburb, category and contact details. Standard adds full control of your listing content: photos, hours, description, social links and more. Premium adds a custom page our team designs and builds for you, plus the three Business Growth Services. Full comparison is ready to view on the Claim Your Business Page

Claims are reviewed within 24 hours. If you are on Standard you can start editing straight away. If you are on Premium, most businesses are fully live within 3 to 5 business days, because we are designing the page for you.

Yes, any time, with no lock-in contract and no exit fee. Your listing reverts to the free Basic state and you keep verified ownership of it.

Yes. That is the entire point. Every person browsing this directory is looking for a business in Sydney, so your listing is never competing for attention with a plumber in Perth.

Sydney Express is an online business directory built for one city. Every business on it operates in Sydney, and every person searching it is looking for something local. It is run by Finance Systems Australia Pty Ltd from our office in Drummoyne.

Completely. There is no account required to search, browse or contact a business through Sydney Express.

Google is a search engine with the whole world in it. Sydney Express is a curated directory of Sydney businesses only, so nothing is diluted by results from interstate or overseas. We are not trying to replace your Google presence, we amplify it with stronger SEO links. The other difference is what a business gets: on Premium, our team builds the page for you, which no free profile anywhere does.

We aim to deliver anywhere in Australia. As long as we can get your completed orders assigned to a courier, then we will deliver accordingly.  

All of Greater Sydney Metropolitan Area. Listings run from Penrith to Manly, Hornsby to Cronulla, plus a Sydney-wide category for businesses that travel to the customer and an Online category for businesses that trade digitally.

Finding Businesses

Use the search bar at the top of any page. Enter what you are after in the What field and a suburb in the Where field. Leave Where empty to search all of Sydney and leave both fields empty to search all of our listings.

Yes. Leave the What field empty and choose a suburb to see everything listed there.

It means the business owner has claimed the listing and we have confirmed they are who they say they are. An unclaimed listing is still a real business, it just has not been verified by its owner yet.

Yes, and we would like to know. Use the Report this listing link on the listing page, or email support@sydneyexpress.com.au with the listing name and what is incorrect. If you are the owner, claiming the listing gives you direct control instead.

We have over 1,040 Sydney businesses listed and we are adding more all the time, but we are not complete yet. If you know a business that should be here, tell them to add their listing. It is free.

Yes. You need a free account so we can confirm reviews come from real people, then you can rate and review any listing.

Claiming your business

Search for your business on the site, open your listing, and use the claim option. You will create a free account, confirm you are the owner, and choose a plan. We review the claim and approve it within 24 hours.

We check the details you give against the contact details already on the listing and against public business records. If anything does not line up we ring you on the number listed. It is a deliberately human check rather than an automated one, because a wrongly approved claim hands your business to someone else.

Within 24 hours in almost every case. If we need to ring you to confirm something it can take a little longer.

Not to submit a claim. We review and approve the claim first, then you complete payment if you have chosen Standard or Premium. If you are staying on Basic there is nothing to pay at all.

Only one claim is approved. If a second claim arrives for a listing that is already verified, we contact both parties before changing anything. Ownership does not move without us speaking to the current owner.

Email support@sydneyexpress.com.au straight away with your business name, the listing URL and evidence of ownership such as your ABN registration. We will investigate and contact the current claimant.

Yes. Email support@sydneyexpress.com.au from an address connected to the business and we will remove the listing. No argument, no retention call, no charge.

Email us with the listing URL and the new owner's contact details. We will verify with both parties and transfer ownership. If there is a subscription attached, we will cancel yours and set the new owner up separately rather than transferring your billing.

Yes, if you are an agency or a bookkeeper acting for the business. We will need written confirmation from the business owner before we approve it.

No. No setup fee, no joining fee, no build fee. The Premium page build is included in the monthly price.

If you are on a monthly plan you can cancel anytime. Annually is a one off purchase for 12 months of service.

Yes. Review our Pricing Plans

Yes, up or down, at any time from your dashboard. If you upgrade mid-cycle you pay the difference for the remainder of that month. If you downgrade, the change takes effect at your next billing date.

If you already have a website and marketing sorted and just want control of your listing, Standard is enough. If you want the listing to work as a proper online presence in its own right, and you would rather not build it yourself, Premium is the one. If you are unsure, ring us and we will tell you honestly which fits.

The Premium Build

It means you do not build the page. After our Strategy Session consult, you send us your photos, your content and anything you have on your branding, and our designers build the full listing page for you. There is no template to fill in and no software to learn.

A 20 minute video call or in person meeting after your claim is approved. We go through your listing, what you want it to do, which suburbs and searches matter to you, and how the Business Growth Services fit your business.

Within 24 to 48 hours of the Strategy Session. Most businesses are fully live within 3 to 5 business days from claiming.

Premium listings are maintained by our team, which is the point of the service. If you would rather have hands-on control, Standard gives you direct editing access. There are unlimited revisions with the Premium plan.

Tell us what to change and we change it. Premium includes unlimited revisions, so there is no cap and no per-change fee. Message the team and it gets done.

 

Yes. Send us your brand colours, your logo, examples of what you like. We design around your business, not around a template.

Premium listings are built with proper heading structure, meta descriptions, image alt text and internal linking so search engines can read them properly. We cannot promise a ranking position, and you should be sceptical of anyone who does.

Business Growth Services

Three partner services bundled with every Premium listing at no extra cost: a 60-day free trial of SynergyOne CRM, a $1,500 discount on any Webhost Media website package, and 250 free SMS credits with meDigital.

No. Use whichever fit your business and ignore the rest. Your listing works fully on its own.

After you go Premium, at your Strategy Session. We walk through each one and set up whichever you want properly, rather than switching them on and leaving you to work it out.

$1,500 off any Webhost Media website package. For example, applied to the Brochure Website, a $1,595 parallax site costs $95. Prices are plus GST, and a Webhost Media hosting plan is required separately to keep the site online.

No. The discount covers the website build. Hosting is billed separately by Webhost Media as a recurring fee, and they handle the server, security and uptime.

No. It is applied once per business, at the time you go Premium. It does not reset if you cancel and rejoin.

Under MeDigital's service provider, all SMS marketing services are operational under law, with required opt-out options and business identity profiling.

Anything you set up with SynergyOne or Webhost Media is held directly with those providers, so your CRM data and your website stay yours and stay with them. Only the bundled perks pause.
